Post-Renovation Defect Re-Inspection in Singapore

Renovation can hide — or create — defects. Before you make final payment, we re-check every item that was meant to be rectified and inspect the new works themselves, so poor workmanship is caught while your interior designer is still on the hook to fix it.

01 / Why it matters

Two reasons to inspect after renovation

First, renovation often covers up the original handover defects before the developer or HDB has rectified them — hollow tiles get tiled over, cracks get boxed in. Second, renovation itself introduces new defects: uneven carpentry, poor tiling and grouting, paint defects, and electrical or plumbing changes that aren’t done to standard.

A post-renovation re-inspection catches both — while you still hold final payment and your interior designer is contractually obliged to put it right.

02 / Scope

What we re-verify after renovation

Rectification check

Every defect from the original report re-checked to confirm it was actually fixed — not just signed off on paper.

Carpentry & finishes

Built-in wardrobes, kitchen cabinetry, feature walls and paintwork inspected for alignment, gaps and finish quality.

Tiling & flooring

New tiling and flooring percussion-tested for hollows, plus lippage, grouting and transition defects.

Electrical & plumbing

Relocated sockets, new lighting circuits, and plumbing changes checked for function and correct installation.

03 / Process

Where re-inspection fits the 5 steps

Re-inspection is Steps 3–5 of our process — the rectification review, the full post-renovation inspection, and the final handover sign-off.

Rectification Review

Recheck all rectified items and follow up with the BSC / developer for updates.

Post-Renovation Inspection

Full re-inspection after renovation, updated report, and coordination with your ID.

Final Review & Handover

Verify completion of all rectification works and close the inspection process.

FAQ / Questions

Post-renovation inspection — FAQs

What is a post-renovation inspection?

It is a re-inspection after your renovation is complete. We re-check every defect that was supposed to be rectified, then inspect the renovation works themselves — carpentry, tiling, painting, electrical and plumbing changes — so anything done poorly is caught before you make final payment and move in.

When should I book the re-inspection?

Right as your interior designer or contractor declares the works complete, and before your final progress payment. That timing gives you the most leverage to have any defective workmanship corrected at no extra cost.

Is re-inspection included in your packages?

Yes. Our 3-Trip and 5-Trip packages include a rectification review, and the 5-Trip package adds a full post-renovation inspection (Step 4) plus a final review and handover (Step 5). You can also book a re-inspection on its own — message us for a quote.

Do you coordinate with my interior designer?

Yes. We document every finding in an updated report and can walk your ID or contractor through each item, then return to verify the corrections were done properly before sign-off.
